Sweet and sticky chicken wings
This is a simple yet delicious recipe, and doesn’t take too long to put together. The recipe below uses an air frier but you can also cook these in a conventional oven.

Ingredients
- 400g chicken wings
- 2tbsp white miso
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1tbsp soy sauce
- 1tbsp vegetable oil
- 1tsp sesame seeds
- 1 spring onion
- salt and pepper to taste
We served these chicken wings alongisde some gochujang chicken wings and some egg fried rice.
We suggest marinating the chicken wings for at least 30 minutes but the longer the better.
If not using an air frier, then preheat the oven to 200 degrees C, and cook for 40-45 minutes, turning the wings half way through.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ingredients: in a small bowl combine the miso with the garlic, soy sauce, vegetable oil and add salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2
Mix everything well together, then add the chicken wings to the bowl, and ensure they are fully covered in the sauce.
Step 3
Place the chicken into the fridge and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Step 4
Next, the chicken is ready to be cooked. We used an air frier here, and cooked the chicken wings for 18-20 minutes on high heat. Turn half way through to ensure both sides are cooked well and crispy.
Step 5
Whilst the wings are cooking, thinly slice the spring onion and set aside with the sesame seeds to use later for a garnish.
Step 6
The chicken wings are now ready. Toss over the spring onion and sesame seeds and serve. Enjoy!
